Mastering Normandy Joinery Traditions
At JVais Caennais, we honor the historical woodcraft traditions of Normandy, France. We specialize in designing and engineering custom timber frames and cabinetry built to last generations.
Seasoned Normandy Timbers
Traditional timber framing is a slow, methodical process. To build structures that remain stable in Malaysia's tropical climate, we select seasoned oaks and walnuts directly from verified French forestry cooperatives.
By carefully drying our timbers and utilizing historic mortise-and-tenon joins, we allow the wood fibers to breathe and settle without losing structural integrity. No metal plates, brackets, or artificial screws are used in our joinery frames.
Natural Oil Finishes
We avoid toxic chemical varnishes. Every custom bookshelf and timber frame is finished using hand-applied organic linseed oil and beeswax mixtures, enhancing the natural wood grain while offering protection.
Commitment to Craft Integrity
We use certified sustainable timbers and support local apprenticeship training program setups.
PEFC Certified Imports
All imported French oak is PEFC certified, guaranteeing it is sourced from responsibly managed forests in Normandy.
Apprentice Training
We host active training workshops in Selangor to pass down traditional timber-frame joinery skills to local carpenters.
Zero-Waste Policy
All clean timber offcuts and wood shavings are recycled into organic garden mulches and workshop heating pellets.
